Assisting students in higher education

Altena assists students with disabilities nationwide to achieve their goals in higher education. We do this by thinking creatively, holistically and sensitively, in order to match each student with the right support practitioners for their current and future study needs.

Creating a strong, personal connection in this way is what makes us different from others in the education sector, by getting to know the support requirements of each individual, as well as the student themselves; we can provide a bespoke holistic service that lasts.

Introduction

As part of this creative process, every practitioner is carefully selected and matched to each student. Then, from initial referral and assignment confirmation to final graduation, we give students, assessors and HEPs the confidence that a monitored and ongoing process of high quality support is in place.

This personal approach ensures that disabled students have access to the right skills and strategies to enhance their studies and accelerate learning.

We are proud to be an accredited Disabled Students Allowance Non-Medical Help Provider. With our head office in the West Midlands as well as offices in the North and South, we provide expert support nationwide.

Capacity

No matter where a disabled student is studying in the country, we can provide a carefully selected support practitioner who is right for their individual requirements. Rest assured, with offices in the North, the Midlands and the South, we’ll find the perfect match for their current and future needs.

Please contact us for more information and to confirm our capacity for any student support enquiries.

Why us?

We believe that a student with disabilities needs a support practitioner who not only offers experience and expertise, but also creates a strong personal connection between them. This way of thinking it what make us different and why we provide a truly bespoke and personal service.

By not only understanding a student’s unique support requirements, but also the individual themselves, we aim to carefully match our practitioners with each and every student. This holistic process then goes on to aid the student in achieving their aims and ambitions in higher education. In addition, it creates a range of benefits such as enhancing their studies and accelerating their learning.

As part of this ongoing road to success, we ensure that a practitioner is there to provide ongoing support at every stage of someone’s studies. Thanks to this, students, assessors and HEPs alike all have the reassurance that high quality and highly tailored support is on hand from a student’s first day on campus right through to their graduation.
